What sets this Picasso exhibition apart from so many others is its curation. Whilst progressing naturally from the almost undistinguishable works of his childhood through to the Modernism of his latter years, the paintings are also arranged around the places in which they were painted. Those created during family summer holidays in Marbella are placed together, as are those painted under the influence of Impressionism that clearly moved him during his time in Paris. Particularly stunning are his Barcelona paintings, seen in the context of the city. Set in an exquisite building that circles a courtyard, hidden in the depths of the city, this exhibit presents everything from paintings to sculptures, pottery to personal letters, and with a large number of new additions donated in the last year, it's worth seeing again if you've been before.
